According to 2017 FAO data, Türkiye ranks seventh in the world in dry onion production and twelfth in growing area. World dry onion yield was 18.81 t/ha in 2016, while Türkiye's yield was 36.9 t/ha in 2017 according to TÜİK data, above the world average. Ankara ranks first with 523,000 tonnes of dry onion production, followed by Amasya with 272,000 tonnes, Hatay with 198,000 tonnes, and then Eskişehir and Adana. Varieties: Onion, shallot onion
